Pastor Michael Shaw

I was born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada.  There, I was an automotive technician for 10 years before responding to God’s call to be in “full-time” ministry. My wife Jenny and our four children (Kailey, Jeremy, Abigale, Allison) headed off to New Brunswick Bible Institute where I received my formal biblical education. After completing my education there, I began my first pastorate in May 2005.  In 2012, Jenny & I moved our family to New Hampshire to serve the church family here at CHBC.

I am passionate about preaching God’s Word expositionally and seeing how God transforms lives through it. “For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16). Jenny and I are firm believers in building relationships with people as the avenue of ministering the truth of God’s Word and discipling others in the faith.

BFFs are different here

CHBC desires to be a church where people encounter the love of Jesus Christ in a life changing way - one that leads them along a path of continual growth in faith. That's why our motto is Building Faithful Followers: we believe Jesus is worth following and we take seriously His example of discipleship and growth.

"Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus." (Colossians 1:28)  We believe this verse captures the essence of our values and transcends any cultural or religious fads.  Building Faithful Followers entails sharing the good news to the world in personal and realistic ways, teaching new believers in the fundamentals of the faith, and preparing them to go and do likewise in fulfillment of our mandate. This is no short road to be traveled in a day, a week, or even a year. Rather, it is a lifelong committed response to the Lord's commission, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you."  (Matthew 28:19-20)
