Institution of the Lord’s Supper
22 And as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” 23 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. 24 And he said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. 25 Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.” ESV
Mark 14:22-25 Are you willing to ask the question when no one else will? None of the twelve acted particularly well this night of Jesus life. Even though Jesus told them three times He would be arrested-tried-crucified-rise on the third day & they did not comprehend it. They really have no idea what Jesus is talking about. This side of it all we remember the Last Supper or communion as the glorious victory that it is but on the other side it went over the disciples heads. If they did not know-why did they not ask Jesus what He was talking about? Inquire of the Lord-search the scriptures & don’t make assumptions! He is the Way-the Truth-the Life-Follow Him!
