Jesus Is Mocked
16 And the soldiers led him away inside the palace (that is, the governor’s headquarters), and they called together the whole battalion. 17 And they clothed him in a purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him. 18 And they began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 19 And they were striking his head with a reed and spitting on him and kneeling down in homage to him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple cloak and put his own clothes on him. And they led him out to crucify him. ESV
Mark 15:16-20 What is the most vile moment in human history? How much humiliation could/would you endure if you could stop it? What Jesus endured at the hands of the Jewish Leaders & then the Romans is unimaginable & yet Jesus would endure far more as the wrath of God is poured out in full upon the one who knew no sin. Jesus would say of His executioners & the crowd: Father forgive them they do not know what they do. Do you know what your sin cost Jesus? Sin from your past, present, future is all included in the beating He took. He took it all that He might bring you to God - Redeemed - washed in the blood & made righteous. You must repent-believe-follow Him. Today is a good day to look in those blood stained eyes & follow Him!
