A Young Man Flees
51 And a young man followed him, with nothing but a linen cloth about his body. And they seized him, 52 but he left the linen cloth and ran away naked. ESV
Mark 14:51-52 Have you ever had to run from a mob? What were the circumstances? We don’t know how much this young man understood about the events happening this night. It is possible he heard much of what Jesus told the disciples & it is possible that he heard very little. He knew Judas & saw him lead the crowd to Jesus as he kissed him in betrayal. He saw Peter grab a sword & wack off an ear only to see Jesus heal the man. He saw the disciples scatter and was in the process of doing the same when his garment was grabbed. It says he spun out of the garment naked and ran off. How would you like to be remembered for eternity in God’s Word as the one who ran away naked? This was going to be a night to remember!
