CHRCH just isn't the same without U!

We encourage you to connect with and serve in a local church in your area.
As you consider that, contemplate these truths about the meaning and purpose of the Church.

God is honored when His people gather together to worship Him in spirit and truth

"So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people." (Acts 2:46-47)

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." (Colossians 3:16)

"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." (Matthew 18:20)

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)

The church is a people, not a building

"Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood." (Acts 20:28)

"Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God" (1Corinthians 10:32)

"Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:19-22)

The church meeting is where the Holy Scriptures are preached and expounded

"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers." (Acts 2:42)

"Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight." (Acts 20:7)

"Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine." (1Timothy 4:13)

Hearing God's word nourishes and equips His church to grow into doers of His will

"So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." (Romans 10:17)

"To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12)

"Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation." (1Peter 2:2 ESV)

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." (James 1:22)

Some biblical commands cannot be fulfilled apart from Christian fellowship

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:24-25)

"Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing." (1Thessalonians 5:11)

"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2)
