CHBC desires to be a church where people encounter the love of Jesus Christ in a life changing way - one that leads them along a path of continual growth in faith. That's why our motto is Building Faithful Followers: we believe Jesus is worth following and we take seriously His example of discipleship and growth.
"Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus." (Colossians 1:28) We believe this verse captures the essence of our values and transcends any cultural or religious fads. Building Faithful Followers entails sharing the good news to the world in personal and realistic ways, teaching new believers in the fundamentals of the faith, and preparing them to go and do likewise in fulfillment of our mandate. This is no short road to be traveled in a day, a week, or even a year. Rather, it is a lifelong committed response to the Lord's commission, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)
